PSCAD 4.6.2FACE – Field and Corona Effects Corona and field performance is an important consideration in the design and operation of high voltage transmission lines. FACE, developed by the Manitoba Hydro International Ltd., can be used to quickly determine the overall corona and field effects. FACE is a computation program used by utilities, consultants, researchers, academia and vendors to assess audible and electromagnetic environmental impacts of transmission lines before undertaking large projects. FACE calculates the audible noises and corona effects by using empirical formulas developed by industry standards.
